IELTS test is designed to the English language skills of non-English speaking candidates aspiring to either study(students) or immigrate, work in certain professions, study at a non-degree level in an English speaking country.

IELTS Types

There are two types of IELTS.

  1. Academic Module: For students who wish to study at an undergraduate or postgraduate Certificate and Masters in Canada and the USA.
  2. General Training Module: For students in Canada on work permit who want PR ( permanent residence) and international candidates seeking PR under express entry

IELTS Section

4 sections, 40 questions, 30 minutes + 10 minutes transfer time.

  1. Reading Academic Reading 3 sections, 40 questions 60 Minutes General Training Reading 3 sections, 40 questions 60 Minutes
  2. writing Academic writing 2-Task 60 Minutes General Training Reading 2-Task 60 Minutes
  3. Listening - 30 Minutes Speaking (11 to 14 Minutes)
  4. Total Test Time: 2 hours 44 Minutes

IELTS Requirement

  1. There are special requirements of IELTS for individuals having different levels of education.
  2. After High school, the band's requirement should be overall 6 and not less than 6.0 bands in each module.
  3. For a student coming after graduation, the band's requirement should be overall 6.5 and not less than 6.0 in any module
  4. For nursing and higher technical programs, the band requirement should be overall 6.5/7.0 and not less than 6 in each module.
